As a manager you contribute substantially to the success of a project, the productivity of a department, and the achievement of an enterprise. You give attention both to objective and to interpersonal factors, and consider all the people involved.
In the Certificate Program in Leadership, you discuss case studies and solve problems from the perspective of your experience of leading and being led. You study key elements of leadership as a responsibility of management, and examine the potentials and limitations of exerting personal influence in the context of your company. You will reflect on issues in leadership and management, analyze your own leadership behavior, and develop possible alternatives.

In view of your personal practice as a leader and/or as a follower, you will discuss the core elements of leadership as a management function, and their significance for the success of the company. You will study potentials and limitations of the influence you can exert in the context of your company’s or organization’s leadership culture, and reflect on your own approach to issues of leadership and management in relation to selected theoretical models. Selected case studies from your professional practice allow you to analyze your own leadership behavior and to develop potentials for modification with a view to shaping your future personal leadership.

In general, we recommend both work experience and current employment because this allows you to transfer acquired skills directly to your professional practice.
As this program is taught primarily in German, non-native German speakers must prove (no later than date of registration) B2 level German proficiency by means of a corresponding language test (e.g. TestDaF or DSH) or equivalent proof, such as of one semester of university studies with German as the sole language of instruction or work experience in an exclusively German-speaking work environment.
