Departments

DUW’s teaching and research profile is concentrated on those areas of society that are changing the fastest today in ways that directly affect the job market: Business and Management, Education, Health Care, and Communication.

DUW offers continuing education master’s degree courses and certificate programmes, and conducts research, in these four departments. Both the research activities of DUW and its departments and the development of the university’s continuing education programmes are founded on a continuous dialog between DUW and the “real world” of work and enterprise.

General Professional Studies (Interdepartmental Programmes)

The interdisciplinary continuing education certificate programmes in General Professional Studies are offered in cooperation between several departments. Working students in these programmes expand and deepen their management and personal skills. General Professional Studies address the requirements of today’s project-oriented professional world, in which simple substantive and methodological qualifications are no longer sufficient to manage the tasks at hand, so that generalist skills are increasingly in demand.
