Prof. Ada Pellert

Prof. Ada Pellert is the President of DUW and the founding Dean of the Department of Business and Management. Her emphasis is on organizational development, continuing education research and education management. Prof. Pellert is the Academic Director of the master’s degree course in Education and Skills Management in the Department of Education, and of the MBA course in General Management in the Department of Business and Management. Her specialities include organization and personnel development, management and leadership, quality assurance and quality management, diversity management and lifelong learning strategies.

Curriculum vitae

Prof. Ada Pellert studied Business Administration at Vienna University of Economics and Business, where she received her doctorate in 1987. She received her habilitation in 1998 at the University of Klagenfurt with a dissertation on organizational development for scientific and educational institutions. Since the 1990s she has been an internationally renowned expert on the continuing professional development of university-level instructors, on consulting for higher education institutions, and on international comparative education research. Her specialities include organization and personnel development, management and leadership, quality assurance and quality management, diversity management and lifelong learning strategies.

From 2005 to 2008, Dr. Pellert was Professor of Continuing Education Research and Education Management, as well as Vice-rector for Teaching, Continuing Education and Structural Issues at Danube University, Krems. From 1999 to 2003 she served as Vice-rector for Teaching, Staff Development and Equal Opportunity at the University of Graz. From 1998 to 2005 she taught and conducted research as an adjunct professor in the Department of Higher Education Research at the University of Klagenfurt’s Faculty of Interdisciplinary Research and Continuing Education (IFF). In November, 2008, she was appointed the founding President of DUW.

Dr. Eva Cendon

Eva Cendon is Course Director of the master’s degree programme in Education and Skills Management in the Department of Education at DUW. Her areas of emphasis in research and teaching include academic continuing education, lifelong learning and its consequences for higher education institutions, educational policies such as the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF), skills and learning-outcome orientation and its implementation in basic and continuing education courses, and practice research as a research approach to the interplay of theory and practice.

Eva Cendon, born 1971 in Graz, Austria. Undergraduate studies in Education and doctorate in Philosophy, Institute for Education Science, University of Graz. 1999–2005, participation in research projects, universities of Graz and Klagenfurt. 2001–2002, visiting researcher during doctoral studies, University of Utrecht, Netherlands.

2003–present, teaching at the universities of Graz and Klagenfurt and at Danube University, Krems. 2005–2008, research associate, Department of Continuing Education Research and Education Management, Danube University, Krems.
