Project Management and Practice Transfer
Shaping Sustainable Projects
More and more professional work is organized in projects. As economic conditions change, many people’s workdays are characterized by cooperative work in internationalized contexts and in transdisciplinary teams, supported by information and communication technologies.
Project management has long since become the formula for shaping such complex cooperative processes, across the boundaries of professions and specializations. But although those responsible for coordination are aware of the instruments of project management, many projects fail to get past the initial stage, or run into obstacles during their realization. This is usually not due to unsuitable methods or a lack of skills on the part of individual project participants. Rather, the reasons why projects fail are often found in omissions on the material or interpersonal level.
In the certificate programme in Project Management and Practice Transfer, you will learn to create conditions that promote cooperation among different project participants. Furthermore, you will examine professional methods and instruments for identifying and evaluating good practices in order to integrate them in your own day-to-day work.
Learning Outcomes
The certificate programme in Project Management and Practice Transfer uses selected examples from actual practice to develop your skills in shaping successful projects.
On completion of the certificate programme, you will be able to draw on your own professional experience to identify the essential conditions on which the success or failure of project management depends. Furthermore, you will be able to utilize methods and processes that promote successful individual and organizational action.
In doing so, you will be able to network with other expert practitioners in and outside your company or organization, initiating a community of practice.

Course Content
The certificate programme in Project Management and Practice Transfer presents the conditions for successful project management through a study of specific projects. You will identify and critically analyze the pitfalls of project management, which are not always obvious, on both the material and interpersonal levels. A comparative analysis of examples from practice in various fields supports you in identifying good practice, and applying it in your own successful professional practice. Building on these foundations, you will integrate a more reflexive approach to project management and methods and techniques you have learned in a selected application context. The focus here is on sustainable transfer to your own professional practice, and on the initiation of networking.
