As an expert on intercultural communication, you understand the different ways of thinking, feeling and acting of people socialized in other cultures, and of members of other specialist cultures. Course Content
Course Goals
Using authentic case studies from actual practice, you will learn to relate your own intercultural experience with the findings of intercultural research and expand your active repertoire. You will reflect on and analyze your experience of diversity using selected categories, and learn methods of intercultural training and collegial intercultural case consultation. Furthermore, on the basis of your individual professional practice, you will examine dimensions of diversity as they relate to the organization. You will develop concepts to represent diversity management and gender mainstreaming, and suitable methods to transfer them to your own work.
Conditions of Admission
To enroll in the Certificate Program in Intercultural Communication, you must have:
- An undergraduate degree, or
- An equivalent qualification in the form of a qualification for admission to higher education, completed vocational training, and at least 2 years’ work experience with leadership responsibilities, or
- An equivalent qualification in the form of completed vocational training and at least 5 years’ work experience with leadership responsibilities.
We recommend work experience and current employment in any case as a prerequisite for enrollment since this allows you to transfer the skills you acquire immediately to your professional practice.
