Learning Outcomes

The certificate programme in Education Controlling enables you to develop specific educational activities for selected target groups in your professional environment based on your educational needs planning, and to carry out those activities in an education programme.

On completion of the certificate programme, you will be able to assess the advantages and drawbacks of different models of structural integration, evaluate the applicability of selected target group-specific approaches in your professional context, and choose the suitable instruments for your working environment from those presented. You will be familiar with all phases of the complete education controlling cycle, from educational needs planning to quality management.

Duration:

4 months
The period of supervised study can be extended by four months without additional fees.

Prerequisites:

A first academic degree and least two years’ experience in corporate education and personnel work, or in other branches of the education system,
or
Equivalent qualifications: Secondary leaving certificate with qualification for higher education, completed vocational training and at least five years’ work experience with supervisory duties in corporate education and personnel work or in other branches of the education system,
or
Equivalent qualifications: Completed vocational training and at least seven years’ work experience with supervisory duties in corporate education and personnel work or in other branches of the education system.

We recommend work experience and current employment as a prerequisite for this certificate programme. This ensures that you can directly transfer the skills you acquire to your professional practice.

Credit:

Your achievement in the Education Controlling certificate programme can be counted towards the master’s degree course in Education and Skills Management at DUW if you fulfil the admission requirements for that course.

Course Content

The certificate programme in Education Controlling focuses on the principal phases of a complete cycle of skills-oriented personnel development, from education planning to quality management. The programme gives you the tools for each individual phase of the controlling cycle. You will learn to distinguish the various approaches to educational needs planning, and evaluate the applicability of target group-specific approaches in your own professional context. You will be able to weigh structural models to support skills-oriented personnel development and to decide which of them can be used efficiently in your professional context. In addition, you will examine the various structural and organizational roles and responsibilities involved in learning in the workplace. The programme will also teach you the major approaches to quality management, and selected strategic processes that you can use to implement and optimize skills-oriented personnel development.
