Freelance Native Speaking Copyeditors/Proofreaders

Deutsche Universität für Weiterbildung – Berlin University for Professional Studies (DUW) is looking for experienced copyeditors/proofreaders in the field of Life Sciences. As a freelancer you’ll assist our authors to complete high-end study booklets for our English-speaking Master’s and Certificate programs.

Job Requirements for Copyediting

  • Degree in Life Sciences (e.g. Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology or Chemistry)
  • Minimum of two years of practical editing experience in a relevant field
  • Excellent knowledge of professional terminology and writing conventions
  • Outstanding communication, writing, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in editing non-native English
  • Proven ability to apply knowledge and experience in a time-pressured, deadline-intensive environment
  • English native speaker and fluent in German

Details

DUW is about to build up a pool of copyeditors/proofreaders. We are interested in a long-term relationship. First contracts are to start in November 2009 after intense briefing and successful completion of a representative sample of work.
